LIVING INSTALLATIONS

Our Living Installations create magic and mystery, where you’re never sure what you will find around the next corner… We turn the ordinary into the extraordinary, transforming spaces into new worlds.

"Flossy and Boo are a really exciting company whose energy and playful style of story telling is a delight for all audiences."

Have a gander...

So what are you waiting for? Go on…take a look at some of our previous Living Installations and let us know how we can help you create moments of wonder.

How to Defeat Monsters (And Get Away with It!)

Explore. Play. Be Brave.

Working with the Riverfront Theatre in Newport, we took over their double storey basement space and transformed it into a world of monsters, where new Monster Seekers were invited to explore the space and hone their skills. We provided Performance sessions with live actors giving additional story and activities, and Explore sessions where the audience could explore fully at their own pace, with facilitators for support in the space.

Abandoned Basecamp

Something mysterious has happened…

This outdoor Living Installation saw us create a basecamp in the forest of Green Man festival, inviting people to investigate what they think happened to the missing explorers. They could search through tents, read diaries and notebooks, watch mysterious videos, find clues amongst the trees, and create their own catchers to ward off anything that may have been lurking in the forest.

We also created a portable version of the Abandoned Basecamp to tour around parks and green spaces in RCT.

The Great Adventure of Olive and Eira

Theatre in the wild.

This audio adventure for all the family took place across Parc Cwm Darran, providing story and interactive activities through QR codes and activity packs, that encouraged people to explore the park and find magic in the nature around them. This experience was entirely audience-led, with families able to take part at any time and follow the trail at their own pace, with the option of listening in English or Welsh.

Living Library

Where stories come alive and imaginations run wild.

Our second Living Installation commissioned by Green Man festival took place in a series of tents in the main site, where the audience could meet with our Librarians to try and piece together stories that had scattered themselves throughout the space. They could then create their own stories to be fed into the S.I.D (Story Innovator Device) machine and take a free book away with them!

Voyage to the Moon

Start your engines, the countdown has begun.

Our audio journey took families on a tour around the town of Ystradgynlais, as they completed activities to try and help send our character to the moon, all while discovering spaces, shops and businesses throughout the town centre. They would follow the map to find the next stage of their journey, spotting hidden items along the way, and listening to the bilingual story. This project was made with The Welfare in Ystradgynlais.

The Giant Who Never Slept (and Other Tales)

Discover characters, crafts and wondrous tales.

We worked with Tanio to bring this magical story trail to parks and green spaces around Bridgend county, creating a journey in which families could listen to stories from our live storytellers, drum with musicians, create crafts and search for treasures amongst nature.

We wouldn't hesitate to recommend Flossy and Boo to anyone looking to transform festival corners into immersive theatrical worlds and look forward to seeing what they come up with next!
